The limitless and ever-evolving duo BANGLADEAFY – drummer Atif Haq and bassist/pianist/vocalist Jon Ehlers – came slamming back in 2020 with a new beast. Housefly brings you thirteen anxiety-ridden compositions performed live on hardware synths, sample pads, and acoustic drums, and entirely abandons the electric bass acrobatics the tag team has become known for. Inspired by the human manipulation of electronic sounds, Housefly sees BANGLADEAFY revisiting influences of their youth such as Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails, and Devo. Marking a development in the band’s philosophy and approach to songwriting, particularly in the vocal department, Housefly embraces more personal lyricism and an uncharacteristically up-front vocal presence.

BANGLADEAFY's 2023 single "Whisper Rat" bridges the gap between Housefly and their impending fifth album now under construction for release in 2024. "Whisper Rat" takes the carnivorous synth lines and aggressive drumming that the band established on Housefly and combines them with a fleshy lyrical experience. A far cry away from the once instrumental bass/drum noise duo, this song marks a step in a mature direction for BANGLADEAFY.

Now in 2024, new album Vulture—the band's sixth release, and fifth for Nefarious
Industries—sees BANGLADEAFY hurtling further in this direction. "Vulture is the crossroads of organic and electronic expression," declares Ehlers. "Instead of choosing a path, we chose to drive straight through the cornfield and hope for the best."
